Kate Obert

Vice President, Operations

Kate Obert has more than 16 years of healthcare experience with a background in Medicaid/Medicare audits, enrollment, and billing. As Vice President of Operations, Kate provides regional oversight of Liberty quality (QIO) contracts as well as programs for independent assessments of Medicaid LTCSS and Personal Care Services. She serves as a liaison between program management and operational functions, participates in hiring and training of program leadership and personnel, oversees financial management and contract performance, and routinely reviews the status of program operations.

Kate joined Liberty in 2018 to serve as Project Director for Long-Term Care Supports and Services (LTCSS) Medicaid eligibility assessments. She oversaw program operations and worked with District hospitals, nursing facilities, home health providers, and case management providers. Previously, she oversaw regional operations for over 300+ individuals with I/DD receiving services for residential, supported living, family living, day habilitation, supported living, and other home and community-based services. She also oversaw medical home care services for both children and adults on the I/DD waiver, who required skilled nursing care, which included managing individuals with trach and ventilator in-home care, as well as within schools.

Kate earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration, a Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT), and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Iowa
